We started with a singular mission.

The Cape Town Collective Ratepayers’ Association (CTCRA) is a non-profit organisation representing resident and ratepayer associations across Cape Town.

Our role is to provide a unified, independent, and non-partisan voice on issues that affect the affordability, fairness, and future of the city.

Our mandate

CTCRA exists to:

  • Represent member associations in engagements with the City
  • Advocate for fair, transparent, and lawful municipal policies
  • Ensure meaningful public participation in decision-making
  • Support associations in serving their communities effectively

How we work

CTCRA operates as a federation of associations.

Each member represents its local community while CTCRA brings those voices together into coordinated engagement at city level.

  • Shared expertise
  • Greater influence

We are not opposed to development.
We are not opposed to investment.
We are not opposed to change.

We are opposed to:

  • Processes that exclude residents
  • Policies that are unclear or unfair
  • Decisions that make the city unaffordable over time
